“I have three sons. The eldest got married and threw us away from home. The second one committed suicide. The third one went away somewhere 10 years ago after a fight. I have two daughters too and no one wants us to be home.

Both my husband and I are very old and he works as daily labour in a construction site and earns about 5000 INR (72$)/month. I sell peanuts all day and sometimes make about 4000 INR (60$)/month. We live in a small hut here and it is enough to live by. I don’t have any regrets in my life. God chose to keep us this way.

More than anything I miss happiness. I have never been happy in my life. I have a dog who is my son now and he is the only joy in my life.”
